Toronto born and raised, lover of travel, art, fashion, furniture design, beauty products and food. I grew up with the drive to be academic and artistic. This dichotomy still remains true today and is a perfect, yet rare marriage of unique design capabilities and a strong business sense.
I graduated from Parsons School of Design, 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Design and Management. I was admitted to the Bachelor of Fine Arts program, with the intention to study Fashion Design. I soon realized this was not my path, and that I was hearing the call of business pursuits.
Once I made the switch, I began interning at various companies in New York City. This included sales at Vivienne Tam, public relations and branding at Blink Entertainment, and fashion brand management at BPMW. Upon graduation, I began working at BUST Magazine, which was a dream come true. This is where I learned the ropes of large-scale event production, budgeting, advertising sales for print and online and so much more. I also got my first foray into the burgeoning craft and do-it-yourself movement through production of the award winning BUST Magazine Craftacular in New York, Los Angeles and London.
After leaving BUST to pursue my interest in digital media, I began working at BurdaStyle, the American online iteration of the popular German sewing and pattern magazine. This gave me the opportunity to refine my sales skills, perfect my event production abilities and learn more specifically about the sewing industry.
Since BurdaStyle, I have worked full-time at two more influential online start-up craft communities including Craftsy and Kollabora. I continue to consult start-ups and event producers within the craft communities in Brooklyn and Los Angeles.
My goals are to create the most memorable and positive experience for event attendees, and to provide brands with unique opportunities to engage sought-after demographics both online and offline.
